Senior Social Worker- Mental Health Service - 40 Plus Team

Grade 10 (£40,221 - £43,421 per annum)

Hours: 37 per week, Ladies Walk Centre, Sedgley

  • Mental Health Services are currently looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker. The ideal candidate will possess a highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice including The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Mental Health Act (MHA), Human Rights Act, Equalities Act and a detailed awareness of both national and local policies and procedures relevant to Social Work/Social Care are essential. You will already hold one of the following professional qualifications or be willing to undertake AMHP/BIA/ or Practice Educator training, this is essential to be considered for this role.
  • Our approach is strengths based ensuring that adults who require Mental Health support can live healthy, safe, independent, and fulfilling lives. This will ensure adherence to the council’s vision is adhered to and provides a consist approach to adult social care.

Dudley MBC are actively seeking to embed strengths-based practice into Mental Health Social Care This will establish social care practice which moves away from traditional models and as such this is an exciting time to join our organisation. If you find mental health social care an attractive field to work in, we would like to hear from you.

The 40 plus service will also utilise recovery models where possible. Reviews will establish the most appropriate professional to lead care. Additionally, as with the 18-40 service least restrictive options will be secured. Furthermore 117 reviews will be undertaken and where appropriate discharged.

We are committed to co-production and the approach to research, policy and practice in mental health and social care based on the principle that people who use services have valuable knowledge and expertise.

Our centre vision is that Social Work teams work holistically, with the person and their social network, helping to strengthen and build sustainable family and social capital. Defining the roles of social workers and raising their confidence as a workforce will contribute to better practice and better mental health outcomes.

This post will be supported by appropriate training (BIA, AMHP) and supervision. Opportunities will be available for individuals to work across the different areas to gain a full understanding of the service delivery models.
