About us

Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council shares services with its neighbouring authority of Redditch. The Councils are committed to being a customer driven organisation, with our customers at the heart of everything we do; focused on improving on delivery services that make a difference to the community that we serve.

We are a team working across two councils delivering the council’s statutory functions in respect of private sector housing enforcement, home repair and disabled facility grant assistance, HMO and mobile-home site licencing and an additional function of unauthorised encampments.


The role

To assist the Private Sector Housing Manager in delivering the functions and services of the Private Sector Housing Team such as Mandatory HMO Licensing, HHSRS inspections and enforcement, dealing with unauthorised encampments and Energy Efficiency.

 

Key requirements

The ability to work independently, make decisions , manage workload, produce reports, maintain records and be able to communicate well at all levels. To hold a degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification , ideally in Environmental Health but not restricted to same and to have completed and approved course in HHSRS. 

 

Skills & experience

Experience of statutory private sector housing enforcement, experience of working with a range of partners and a sound knowledge of building construction.
