Do you have significant experience of working in a policy role and managing staff in a complex political environment?  Are you able to effectively manage a diverse workload with multiple workstreams? Are you effective at partnership working with statutory, voluntary and community sectors?

 

This is an opportunity for an innovative, adaptable and dynamic individual with experience in the field of managing people, policy, research, commissioning and programme development. Working in relation to the second largest police force in England you will be influencing national, regional and local policy working with colleagues across a wide range of organisations from Government departments to local grass roots organisations and everything in between.

 

You will be required to work closely with the Head of Policy to both write and ensure effective delivery of the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan, you should have excellent experience of working in collaboration to influence and develop and/or commission effective and innovative projects.  You will be working across a range of multi-disciplinary organisations, working with local partners to develop and implement force-wide priorities and associated strategies. Coupled with this you will manage a team of policy practitioners who lead on key elements of the West Midlands Police and Crime Plan which relate to policing and crime prevention policy.

 

You will need to manage a complex portfolio of work, leading the development and delivery of associated strategies and action plans.    We are therefore seeking someone with previous experience of operating at a management level in a complex organisation.
