Residential Childcare Worker (part-time posts 22 hours, 26 hours and 32 hours) - Ref: CH00224

Salary G6 £27,803 - £32,076 pro-rata (plus 5% enhancement for unsociable hours and additional payments for sleeping in duties)

Qualified starting salary - £29,777 (pro-rata for part-time hours)

Unqualified starting salary - £25,803 (pro rata for part-time hours)

We are looking for people who have experience of working with children to join our Children’s Residential Services within Walsall. We have three part-time posts for 22 hours, 26 hours and 32 hours.

This role requires you to be resilient, resourceful, enthusiastic and motivated to be a positive influence on our children.

All successful candidates will be expected to work as part of a team that provides 24/7 on a rota basis. These shift patterns may vary across the service but they will all include working weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in duties (additional payment).
  • Qualified candidates will hold a level three/four qualification in children’s residential care or equivalent.
  • We also encourage applications from unqualified candidates who can demonstrate some experience and a passion for working with children.

The Role
  • As a Residential Childcare worker, you will be involved in providing direct care for children and expected to be engage with children and their families and be highly ambitious in helping them to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Our focus is directed towards a child centred approach where we actively promote children’s rights. We deliver our services in safe personalised small group homes where the care is aimed at supporting children’s welfare.
