The successful candidate will help in the provision of a comprehensive Environmental Health and Licensing Service. The post-holder will be expected to deal with a wide variety of service requests across the whole service area and have responsibility for co-ordinating food poisoning and accident notifications, and the maintenance of registers and databases. The post holder will be expected to assist officers in carrying out their day-to-day duties and provide advice and information to the public on a range of Environmental Health and Licensing issues, and act as the service’s Duty Officer.

The post holder should have good communication skills and be able to use tact and diplomacy in difficult situations. You will be responsible for your own workload, so an ability to work on your own initiative is essential, as are good organisational skills and reliability. Knowledge of the areas of work covered by Environmental Health and Licensing would be an advantage.

You should ideally have general experience in a relevant area, preferably including a relevant qualification. You must be a team player, possess effective communication skills and be able to work to a high standard with the minimum of supervision.
