The Planning Applications Team is working hard to maintain high performance levels – last year it produced the best performance ever. As a result of a continued high volume of applications and staff changes we are looking to recruit a new permanent Assistant Planner post within the team. The position is based in the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon and whose district boundaries extend into the Cotswolds AONB and the West Midlands Green Belt.

You will be assisting the team in dealing with a variety of caseloads focussed on householder applications and other types of minor applications including, lawful development certificates, advertisements, prior approvals and tree applications.

You will be expected to show enthusiasm, drive and a high level of personal organisational skills to manage a large volume of simpler applications. You will have contact with District Councillors, parish councils and members of the public.

You will ideally hold a post graduate qualification in planning or a related field or be about to graduate.

In addition to an open and friendly environment, you’ll enjoy an excellent benefits package including BUPA, a minimum of 23 days annual leave, flexi-time and a Local Government Pension Scheme.

For an informal discussion about the Assistant Planners role, please contact Helen Watson (Team Leader, Assistant Planners) Wed, Thu or Fri am on 01789 260325 or Clare Eynon (Planning Manager – Performance, Appeals & Enforcement) on 01789 260326.

An application form and job description can be accessed via the website, www.stratford.gov.uk, alternatively telephone the 24 hour answering service on (01789) 260711, or e-mail sitsvac@stratford-dc.gov.uk.  The minicom number for Elizabeth House is (01789) 260747.
