Are you a dynamic, self-motivated individual looking for a challenge? Solihull MBC is looking for such an individual to lead a cross public sector collaborative procurement for new networking connectivity services replacing an existing contract currently worth £7 million per annum that is used by some 20 public sector organisations (including local authorities, health trusts, police and fire services) across the West Midlands. The aim of the new procurement is to provide secure, PSN and HSCN compliant, resilient, scalable and future proof connectivity services for partners at the lowest possible cost and to provide a platform for future shared service and collaborative working opportunities for public sector organisations across the West Midlands

You will be responsible for leading the procurement through to contract signature with progress reported to the WMPSN Management Board. You will be supported in this task by a cross organisational team of technical, procurement and legal experts. Following contract signature, you will be responsible for transition/exit management from the current to the new contract, monitoring the performance of the supplier against the new contract, continuing support to partners as well as, supporting the growth of the WMPSN community through the on-boarding of new partners and leading the future direction of WMPSN as both technical, political and business requirements evolve.

As well as being able to demonstrate excellent business analysis and technical ICT skills to solve problems and successfully deliver this programme, you will also have

• a relevant degree or management qualification, or are able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge through extended experience

• A proven track record in the successful delivery of a range of projects

• Significant and proven experience in ICT service delivery and management

• Effective stakeholder management experience, with the ability to identify, manage and build strong relationships with a diverse range of customers

• excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and respond to competing work demands and deadlines.

This is a full time permanent Solihull MBC appointment funded by WMPSN partner organisations. The post will be based at the Solihull MBC Council House, but some element of travel to/from partner organisations is to be expected.
