Urgent Promoting Independence Team
21 Hours - Permanent
2 week rota
Week 1: Sat, Sun, Thu, Fri
Week 2 : Mon, Tues, Wed
The Urgent Promoting Independence Service provides support to individuals who live in their own home. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission and is based at Wildwood, County Hall Campus. This service is provided across the whole of the county of Worcestershire and teams operate within specific areas so the need to travel is essential.
We are currently recruiting to UPI Assistants to provide support in a way that helps people 'to do' rather than 'doing to or for' people. Initially hands-on assistance may be required, but Promoting Independence Assistants will be expected to stand back, observe, problem solve and encourage the service user to do as much for themselves as possible (where appropriate).
The hours of work will be worked between 07:30 - 16:00pm (AM) 16:00-22:00 (PM) over a 2 week rota pattern
The aim of the service is to provide support to individuals so they can remain in their homes and to promote their independence following hospital discharge or crisis intervention and, to observe during a period of assessment any ongoing service requirements that would aid recovery.
