Job purpose
We are looking for a highly organised individual to work alongside our fun, dynamic
and dedicated team. You will plan and organise the provision of activities and
learning experiences for young carers aged 5 – 25. These activities are aimed at
providing young carers a break from caring, reducing isolation, creating
opportunities to meet others and improve their social and childhood experiences.
You will also be the point of contact for awareness raising and provision of
information that supports and showcases the work of our team.
Job Description
- Co-ordinate and oversee the provision of quality, fun and safe activities - including days out, clubs, training, workshops, consultations, residential trips and national events such as carers week and young carers actions day.
- Deliver a programme of activities informed by evaluations and in time with newsletter schedules
- Arrange activities from start to finish, including preparation of session plans, site visits, risk assessments, transport, budgets and encouraging attendance etc - ensuring we reach those most in need
- Plan ahead and adhere to timescales to ensure families, staff, volunteers and partner agencies receive a positive experience
- Co-ordinate paid and volunteer staff linked to your area of work, including provision of rota and regular group ‘check in’s’ – ensuring they comply with CTS operational policies and procedures
- Respond to opportunities offered by other charities for young carers to access activities in the community
- Periodically attend young carers clubs to observe quality, compliance of procedures and preserve contact with young carers and sessional workers
- Use our data management system and other IT tools to administer your work
- Take lead on content and replenishment of newsletter, social media post, leaflets, website and other publicity linked to the work of our team - working alongside the design team to achieve maximum impact
- Be the face, point of contact and provider of information to other settings and within the community to raise awareness of young carers and our work.
