This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants.

 

The City Council are looking to appoint a full time Anatomical Pathology Technician to support the provision of general mortuary services on behalf of H M Coroner.  

 

You will be required to prepare deceased persons for post mortem examination and provide support to the Pathologists, whilst providing a dignified service at all times to the bereaved.  Previous experience in a similar discipline/environment, with A Royal Society for Public Health Diploma (level 3) in anatomical pathology or equivalent is essential, together with IT skills. 

 

The successful candidate will be a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, who demonstrates compassion, is well motivated and confident. 

 

You will be expected to participate in the out of hours service.

 

The successful candidates must possess knowledge in the following fields:-

  • Mortuary theory and practice.
  • The law concerning deaths and their certification.
  • Role of the coroner
  • Requirements of the Human Tissue Act 2004.
  • Requirements of UKAS 15189 standards.
  • COSHH, infection control and other safety regulations or policies pertinent to mortuary work.
