About Warwick Children’s Services Team

Warwick Children’s Services are a large team consisting of an Operations Manager, Team Managers, Social Workers, Social Care Workers and Administrative staff. You would be joining a very strong leadership team who are working together to deliver the Authority’s Transformation agenda. We are supporting our staff to enhance the life experience and chances of children and their families and keeping them safe and healthy. About the Leaving Care and Asylum Team

The Children's Asylum and Leaving Care Service, are a large team of 50+ consisting of a team of managers, Social Workers and Personal Advisors, based over 2 sites within Warwickshire. We support young people who are leaving care, aged 16-25, and promote them into independence, and provide a service to unaccompanied asylum seekers to support them in seeking asylum and integrate into their local community.

The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

You will be part of a busy Administration Team and you will deputise for the Team Administrator in her absence. You will assist with day-to-day running of the team and you should have the ability to work under pressure. Your role will include the supervision of a small number of admin workers, problem solving, thinking outside the box, assisting with the prioritisation of workload for supervisees, processing invoices and raising orders, balancing team imprests, attending and minuting meetings, assisting social workers with ICT issues, general admin duties and reception cover.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role you’ll need good literacy, numeracy and administrative skills with the ability to analyse information to solve general queries as well as good IT skills including Word, Excel and databases. As you’ll be managing a variety of relationships, it is important that you have good communication skills; strong customer care and are used to dealing with difficult people and situations. With the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative you will also need good planning and organising skills, be used to working under pressure to meet deadlines and have experience of handling confidential information with tact and discretion. In addition you’ll have experience of taking minutes at meetings.
