Teaching Assistant Apprentice
(Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship)
Salary: £11,843 per annum (in year 2 £11,843 per annum 
or national minimum wage dependent on age if higher) 
 33.75 hours per week; Term-Time Only + 1 weeks (39 weeks) 
Fixed Term Contract – 2 years then reviewed 
Start Date: September 2024


Telford Junior School is part of the Elm Tree Multi Academy Trust. Working with the SENCo you will be joining our thriving team to assist and support teaching and learning, working with individuals or groups of pupils. You will supervise pupils and assist in their general care, safety and well-being, making a difference to their life in school. 

If you want to pursue a career in Education we will support you to gain the Level 3 Teaching Assistant (TA) Apprenticeship Qualification. 20% off the job learning time will be given to complete the studies, whilst gaining valuable work experience alongside. We are collaborating with Heart Of England Training (HOET) for this qualification and further information can be found on their website:

We are looking for someone who ideally has:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths C/4 or above 
  • BTEC L3 or A Level equivalent   
  • Has excellent communication skills - verbally, in writing and is a good listener
  • Has initiative and is compassionate
  • Demonstrates professionalism and a willingness to learn

This post is based at Telford Junior School and is fixed-term for 2 years. After successful completion of your apprenticeship, we will review further employment opportunities and the potential for higher-level training dependant on your performance and qualification completion.
