County Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager
Warwickshire County Council’s (WCC) Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Service provides in-house competent occupational health, safety and wellbeing advice for WCC employees in accordance with The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations. The Service is led and managed by the Corporate Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager who is also the corporate lead for health and safety.
The Service develops, maintains, monitors, audits and promotes the occupational health, safety and wellbeing management system (OHSMS) across a diverse range of occupational groups within the County Council (our support services advise all County Council employees from office based staff, to libraries, forestry, fleet maintenance, care services, to schools).
37.0 Hours per Week
To support the implementation of the OHSMS the HSW Service advises managers/employees, develops policies, promotes the HSE's sensible risk campaign and relevant H&S initiatives, delivers a range of training, undertakes DSE assessments, workplace inspections, audits, provides short term support and counselling, and work with other Council services/ teams as necessary.
The County Council is looking to appoint an experienced and qualified health and safety professional. The successful candidate will be required to lead and manage the HSW Service and meet service objectives.
This is an exciting opportunity to line manage and lead a diverse range of specialist advisors, to work collaboratively with partners, develop/review policy, consult with Trade Unions, review performance, consider/implement the wider occupational health and wellbeing agenda and fundamentally to ensure the Council’s organisational arrangements satisfy statutory duties.

The offer (full time equivalent)
- Up to £41,967 depending on experience
- Flexible working of 37 hours per week
- Minimum of 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Car mileage reimbursement for appropriate work related travel
