The Bridge is an all age special school for pupils with complex/Severe Learning Difficulties with excellent facilities. School has had successive outstanding Ofsted inspections and extensive CPD is provided.

Teaching Assistant Apprentice

Apprenticeship minimum wage applies- currently £9.84 per hour for the first year After the first 12 months the salary will increase to minimum wage per age for apprentices aged over 19 years of age, further information can be found at

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant Apprentice. As a team member of the school, you will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work, care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. 

You need to be organised and have a willingness to study towards an apprenticeship whilst working. 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time + PD days) Monday – Friday. Holidays must be taken during school holiday periods only. 36 hours per week includes staff meetings, training programme and study time.

We expect you to hold qualifications that demonstrate a good level of literacy and numeracy. GCSE Grade A – C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics is essential. As part of this placement, you will be expected to undertake off the job training.

You will study for a  Level 3 Early Educator and a package of other qualifications.
