About us and the role

 

Warwickshire County Council’s Adult and Community Learning is a dynamic, forward-looking adult education service, judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We provide a wide range of adult learning courses across the county.

 

We are seeking a permanent tutor to teach across the rich and broad curriculum offer within the Family Learning programme. This includes Literacy; Numeracy; Science, Food and the Environment; Art and Play; and Parenting and Life Skills courses. This post will be based in South Warwickshire (comprising Stratford District and Warwick District) with an ability to travel Warwickshire-wide as required. The post-holder’s office base will be Pound Lane Learning Centre, Leamington Spa.

 

Classes mostly take place during the day, with some evening provision offered. Classes are delivered across South Warwickshire in partnership with a variety of settings.

 

This role is full time, term time only, plus two weeks (41 weeks), though job share will be considered – please specify an interest in this within your application as applicable. Ideally, the candidate will be available to begin in September, though start dates can be negotiated where notice periods would not enable this.

  

Key Requirements

  • You are likely to be a skilled qualified teacher, with knowledge and experience of teaching across the Early Years Foundation Stage and/or Primary curriculum.
  • You will hold ambitious expectations of your learners and an ability to inspire them to achieve to the best of their abilities.
  • You will be able to plan and deliver high quality Family Learning programmes, independently and collaboratively.
  • You will be confident to deliver and assess accredited provision, with experience of moderation processes in an education context.
  • You will need to have an innovative approach to teaching and experience of working with learners with a range of abilities.
  • You will have experience of working with adults and children within education.
  • You must be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and to supporting the rights and aspirations of under-represented groups.
