Start date September 2024 or as soon as possible after.

32 hrs per week, Grade 5 (SCP 6-9), Term-time

(FTE £23,893-£25,119 -  Actual Pro-rata Salary £17,945-£18,866)

The Federation of Chadsmoor Community Infant and Nursery School and Chadsmoor C.E (VC) Junior School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Nursery Inclusion Assistant to join our hardworking and dedicated team.

The Governors of Chadsmoor Federation are offering the opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Nursery Inclusion Assistant to join our team. We are a very hardworking and committed team of professionals who work together to provide a welcoming, nurturing and safe school. We are looking for an experienced Inclusion Assistant to join our team and help move the school forward in its continuing development and to sustain high standards.

Our exciting and vibrant Nursery Class is looking to appoint a Nursery Inclusion Assistant who will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our high-quality Early Years Education and care within a state Nursery setting.    The Nursery provides a great start to our youngest learners within the Chadsmoor Federation and the candidate should demonstrate a genuine passion to uphold the reputation of the setting.  Working closely with the Nursery Teacher/Early Years Lead and other practitioners, the candidate will provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to learn and develop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of our children
  • Maintain a safe and secure setting adhering to health and safety regulations, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Support pupils learning in the Nursery to achieve learning goals including working with individuals and groups.
  • Provide Cover during teacher absence, in accordance with nationally agreed protocols. 
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of early years curriculum. 
  • Be able to read stories and introduce rhymes and songs to the whole group (26 children) with confidence and professionalism.
  • Contribute to the creation of an appropriate learning environment through display and classroom organisation.
  • Support and maintain positive links between home and school through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. This would include when informing families of the daily learning experiences and connections to the EYFS framework.
  • Help with the care and support of pupils, including those with special needs, individually and in groups.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programs including personal care, food handling and hygiene routines.
  • Contribute to the creation of appropriate learning resources.
  • Be willing to complete a First Aid course and to assist in the administering of First Aid
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in working with children across the Early Years age phase.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.  The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, cater to individual needs and respond to the dynamic nature of the busy Early Years classroom.
  • Knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of strategies that will ensure the progress of the children.
  • Relevant qualification (NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or demonstrate equivalent knowledge skills and experience) and very good numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to GCSE C and above.
  • An active stance towards Professional Development to keep up-to-date with the changing landscape of the EYFS curriculum, enhancing knowledge and skills in Early Years education and care.
