We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Pre-School Lead to be an integral part of our Pre-School team at Cutnall Green C of E Primary School which has now been awarded the Top 20 in the West Midlands award and has an average review of 10 out of 10 on Day Nurseries.

 

40 hours per week

The purpose of this post is to provide high quality childcare and early education for all children who attend the setting. The manager is expected to oversee the effective daily running and administration of the setting to ensure the highest standards within a safe and caring environment which is stimulating, creative and accessible for the children at all times.

 

 

 

Main Duties:

 

  • Providing high quality childcare and the day to day running of the setting.
  • To ensure the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Stage (EYFS) are met.
  • Ensure all staff operate professionally within setting policies and procedures, including the schools Code of Conduct policy and Staff Handbook and to ensure that the aims, objectives and ethos of the school and the setting are met by all staff and promoted to all parents/carers.
  • To plan, organise and review staffing schedules ensuring staffing ratios are met in accordance with statutory requirements and needs of children/staff environment through appropriate risk assessments.
  • To ensure all records, including pupil records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident book, incident book, contact sheets, registration forms, safeguarding forms, Support Plans, Care Plans and Risk Reduction Plans.
  • To ensure all Support Plans and Individual Provision Maps are completed and shared with relevant parties.
  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out by staff in accordance with statutory requirements – indoor and outdoor along with photograph permissions.
  • To ensure all work is evaluated to EYFS/ OFSTED criteria and used to inform ongoing improvement.

 

 

Other Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

 

  • To work together with the EYFS Lead and Headteacher of Cutnall Green C of E Primary School to promote our Pre-School setting Ensuring the success of the setting, both academic and financial, by developing effective evaluation and review of the provision. To ensure the organisation of a high-quality establishment for children from 3-5. To lead and support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage. To lead a team of staff daily and direct and support staff as required. To liaise with parents/carers and other professionals. To implement and support an effective Key Person system. Ensure all Safeguarding procedures are followed and to work with School’s DSL/DDSL & under the school’s policy. Ensure all staff receive induction training to help them understand their roles and responsibilities. Responsible for ensuring that all the requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage are met.

 

 

Leadership of Setting:

 

 

 

  • To show potential parents/carers around the setting, send out information and create a welcoming environment for children and their parents/carers.
  • To handle complaints by staff and parents/carers and to work to resolve differences and complaints in accordance with the school complaints procedure.
  • To undertake administrative functions as required
  • To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained and food hygiene courses are completed as required.
  • To promote equality of opportunity for children in the setting including support for children with special needs and/or disabilities
  • To ensuring all SEN documentation is completed according to statutory guidelines.
  • To ensure that individuality and diversity are valued and celebrated within the setting including encouraging children to value and respect others in line with the schools Christian and STARS.
  • To liaise with outside agencies as required.
  • To ensure submission of all Nursery Education Funding paperwork for 3- and 4-year-old payments is completed in a prompt manner in line with the Local Authority requirements.

 

 

Leadership of Learning:

 

 

 

  • To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the setting and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parent involvement. To implement systems of observation and record- keeping through effective assessment systems. To ensure that children’s attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed including a clear next step in learning. To ensure moderation activities take place, at least once each term to provide opportunities for alignment. To support staff in planning for children’s individual needs To attend Continuous Professional Development training which includes out of hours training. To offer and encourage staff opportunities to develop through their own Continuous Professional Development, To ensure all information about individual children is passed onto parents through parent conversations during parents evenings and end of year reports.
