This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants.

 

The role will be responsible for the commissioning, development and delivery of a series of key capital projects to drive forward the economic renaissance of the city.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Commissioning and development of a defined series of capital projects, within programme, such that all projects placed therein are treated and managed utilising a gateway and stage-gate process and that clearly defined development stages are adopted to control the delivery of projects;

 

2. To directly commission and deliver the programme scope, using internal/external consultants, cash-flow and financial reporting mechanisms and established programme/project management techniques. Projects will require cross boundary working in a public private partnership model;

 

3. Assuring that funding and investment plans and policies are in place to secure high quality investment and the continued regeneration of the city; where required working in partnership with the private sector and a wide range of agencies;

 

4. Liaison and negotiation with all project funders, which may include a variety of contributors, or other sponsors and consultees including national and regional agencies, statutory agencies, the private sector, education institutions and other bodies;

 

5. From time to time the post holder will be required to deputise and support the Assistant Director and or be asked to represent the Directorate.;

 

6. Full liaison, on an ongoing basis, will be required with other team members, and colleagues elsewhere across the Council, i.e. all back-office services.

 

7. Line management and day to day responsibility for Project Teams;

 

8. To act in a creative and commercial manner, analysing, appraising and integrating new market opportunities into development propositions.
