The successful candidate will be expected to do the following:

To provide compassionate, safe, effective, and responsive support, that will assist service users in maximising their independence. This will involve providing support with a range of personal and practical tasks, that will achieve agreed-upon personal goals, so that, wherever possible, service users are able to exercise choice and control their wellbeing. 

After following an individual’s plan, staff will report back to their manager, giving accurate feedback and recording progress towards agreed-upon outcomes.

To promote and ensure service delivery that values and respects the dignity, diversity, rights, and responsibilities of individuals.

To support and participate in people's chosen activities. Promoting citizenship and community engagement.  Including but not excluding activities both in the person's home and community that will promote both physical and emotional wellbeing, volunteering, and life skills development.

Essential Requirements:

  •  Good written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Experience of delivering care and support to people with a disability or older people, to enable them to live independently.  
  • Able to work flexible hours in a range of environments. Able to lone work. Willingness and ability to travel around the borough with a good knowledge of the Sandwell area.
  • 18 years old or over
  • Willing to undergo DBS clearance. Able to work as a team and use their own initiative. We are able to prioritise our workload and deliver high standards of support to our customers using a person-centred approach.
  • Driving desirable
  • Will be required to undertake and complete the care certificate or equivalent.
  • Will be required to undertake specific training in adult social care that will enable individuals care and support needs to be met appropriately.
