Fixed Term Contract until: 31st March 2025

The Role
Careers Worcestershire has a new and exciting role as a Careers and Employment Advisor based across our Careers Hubs in Worcester and Redditch. Supporting young people aged 16-24 into positive destinations to achieve their career aspirations. As a Careers and Employment advisor you will be part of a dynamic team using our young person centred approach that supports young people into employment, education or training.

Careers Worcestershire provides young people with a safe, friendly, inclusive, and welcoming environment where they can access helpful support and advice. In delivering the role, you will empower young people (aged 16-24) through group and individual mentoring sessions.

We know that there are great candidates who will not fit everything we have described below, or who have important skills we have not mentioned. If that is you, please do not hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working directly with young people aged 16-24, being able to engage and relate well to this age group, including those who are vulnerable or in crisis.

You will ideally have experience of working in a target driven environment, delivering 1:1 or group mentoring sessions and knowledge of the fundamentals of mentoring and youth work, along with experience of designing and developing resources for young people.

You’ll find an overview of the benefits Worcestershire County Council have to offer on our webpage Why work for us? | Worcestershire County Council, so do take a look!  Some of these offers include:

If you get more than 26 days where you work now, don't worry because if you join us without a break, we'll match your holiday up to 31 days. If you’re successful and want to take advantage of this do let us know!
  • Brilliant Pension Scheme: The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is a nationwide, career average pension scheme and is a valuable part of the pay and reward package for employees working in local government.
