The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the SEMH Inclusion Service following a pilot project in 2023.
We are seeking an Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our small, well established and highly regarded SEMH Inclusion Service. The successful applicant will provide direct support to children with complex SEMH Needs in Herefordshire Schools. Predominately these will be children with a social worker who require extra support to maintain their school place.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant with demonstrable skills and experience of supporting the needs of children with challenging, distressed or disruptive behaviour and emotional difficulties. The post holder will be deployed to support children across Herefordshire schools under the direction of the SEMH Inclusion Service Leader, assisting the school staff to develop and implement successful strategies.
The candidate would need to demonstrate their capacity to cope under pressure, an understanding of a restorative approach to behaviour and a desire to support children through a trauma informed lens.
