Transport Operations secures all home to school transport provision for mainstream students and students with special educational needs as well as transport to day care and respite services.
We’re looking for a Driver to join us working 20 hours per week on a term time basis.
Salary £16,491 - £17,772 per annum (pro rata)
As our Driver, you’ll be working within a team, on a split shift system that will include the morning shift from 6.45 am to 11.00 am and you will then return for the afternoon shift from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm each week day. You’ll be responsible for assisting and transporting adults and children to Day Care; Respite placements and Schools across Warwickshire. As well as driving, you’ll be helping passengers on and off the bus; ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation; maintaining the vehicle records and ensuring the bus is clean and tidy after each use. In addition you’ll be working on a term time basis; may undertake the Passenger Assistant duties as required and will help the wider team as necessary.
To be successful in this role, it’s important you enjoy driving; hold a clean Driving Licence with Category D1 and are available to work shifts in the early mornings and afternoons. With good communication and customer care skills, you'll enjoy meeting and assisting people of various ages and disabilities providing a courteous and sensitive service. With the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative; flexible in your approach, helping the wider team as necessary; you’ll be used to handling confidential information with tact and discretion. It would be advantageous if you have experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and have experience of working with young and elderly people who are disabled.
