Job Details

The post is fixed term to the 31st March 2025 due to project Funding

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and flexible individual to work with young people aged 16-19 who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) including those from priority vulnerable groups e.g. young offenders, LAC and young people with SEND.  There may also be opportunities to engage with potential NEET young people before they leave school.

You will have a track record of being able to engage, mentor and coach NEET young people into education, training and employment.

We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills and able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with young people including those who may be exhibit a lack of motivation or mental health issues.

You will have the Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or equivalent e.g. careers guidance, social work, mentoring. 

Connexions Sandwell provides independent careers information, advice, guidance, and support to young people aged 13-19 (up to 25 for those young people with special educational needs or disabilities) to help them make realistic and informed choices about learning, employment and training and has a statutory responsibility to support the participation in learning of all young people until their 18th birthday.

We support young people through their Post 16 transition from school and progression into education, employment or training.

The service is targeted at those most at risk of becoming NEET and those who are NEET. Connexions, on behalf of the Local Authority, have a statutory responsibility to support the participation in learning of all young people until their 18th birthday.
