About the Team
This is an exciting time to join Warwickshire County Council as the Pensions Administration Manager for the Warwickshire LGPS Pension Fund and Fire Pension Schemes. Our already high-performing Pensions Administration Service is poised and ready to take on new challenges, including upcoming government projects and regulatory changes, and to take advantage of new technology and digital solutions to ensure excellent service to scheme members and employers alike.
About the Role
As Pensions Administration Manager you will be the Council’s subject matter expert, advising senior management, committees and Local Pension Boards on key issues, performance and developments. You will play a pivotal role, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, in identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement while continuing to deliver a first class customer experience.
Managing a team of c. 28 pension professionals, you will be an effective and authentic leader, able to motivate teams, promote a collaborative and supportive working environment, and recognise and nurture talent.
You will lead on contract management with our key suppliers, including Aquila Heywood, our pension system provider, and West Yorkshire Pension Fund, our Fire Pensions administrator, to ensure we are receiving value for money, efficient and effective services.
Previous experience of the Local Government Pension Scheme is a must, to ensure you bring the skills and knowledge required to be a success.
Key Requirements
- Proven track-record of successfully leading highly motivated teams.
- Excellent knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme and Fire Pension Schemes.
- Experience of delivering pensions administration services to pensioners and beneficiaries, active and deferred scheme members and scheme employers.
- Strong understanding of pensions regulations, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Experience of working collaboratively with partners to deliver service improvement.
- Experience of implementing new processes and/or technological solutions in a financial environment to deliver efficiencies and savings.
- Foundation degree in pensions administration or equivalent qualification.
