Assistant Team Manager –  Adult Social Care LIT North  

Grade 11

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Assessment and Independence service for a Assistant Team Manager position working within the Living Independently Team North (Full time 37 hours). You will be expected to operationally manage and support a team of social workers and other experience professional staff in a field work capacity.

The post holders will work to support the activities in the community team, have a working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 

This is a large team comprising of social workers and other experienced professional staff who work to provide support to Vulnerable Adults in the community,

  • Manage and develop staff skills and practice on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manage and develop staff through further training  e.g., LIPs,  Practice Educators 1/2.
  • Be responsible for the professional supervision of social workers at all levels.
  • Support the Team Manager of the team to ensure delivery of the service,
  • Oversee and lead safeguarding investigations, chairing case conferences and strategy meetings as appropriate. 

The successful candidate must:

  • Have a significant experience of working with colleagues within Health and Social Care services, supporting staff including all professional Social are staff and Clinical staff with advice and guidance.
  • Be able to respond to difficult situations when working under pressure and make appropriate decisions and be able to deal with other people facing difficult decisions at times of crisis.
  • Have awareness of CQC fundamental standards and guidelines.
  • Be able to work in a constructive way managing projects and implementing systems with performance measure to assess the projects and meet targets.
