We are looking for an individual to join our team who will enhance our Catering service. Willow Gardens is an Extra Care Facility offering Care and Support on site to individuals living in their own homes. The lunch time meal we provide is an essential part of our service. Willow Gardens is a great place to work we have a very supportive and friendly team dedicated to providing an excellent service to our customers.

We require someone who will:

  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
  • Have previous experience of working in a kitchen environment.  
  • Qualifications ‘Food Safety level 2’ can be gained if successful in securing the post.
  • Be supportive to colleagues, other members of the team and Managers at Willow Gardens. 
  • The post is 9.00am to 14.00pm on 4 days on 4 days off basis. This includes weekends and bank holidays.

The Position of Assistant Cook requires the post holder to:

  • Within the current role you will be expected to prepare Salads, regenerate frozen meals, and prepare on occasion fresh vegetables.
  • Take responsibly and have control of running the kitchen when on duty and make decisions, this will give the successful candidate the opportunity to experience leadership – style skills.
  • Provide on-the-job supervision of the Kitchen Domestic Staff by leading them in the essential cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • Follow all Health and Safety, and Environmental Health policies and procedures.
  • Provide a nutritious meal to Older People.
  • Manage a busy lunch time meal service to our customers.
  • Plan and provide a seasonal menu.
  • Oversee and support with the daily cleaning schedule of the Kitchen.
  • Order and rotate stock as and when required.

As part of the recruitment to this post an enhanced DBS check will be completed.
