37 hours per week - term time only


We are currently looking to appoint a permanent Attendance Officer to support the positive attendance of pupils across school. The position will also incorporate the role of Medical Officer; including the maintenance of medical records and medications, and will be the first point of contact for first aid/medical needs.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Provide support to children and families, to overcome any barriers preventing attendance.
  • Monitor and track attendance of groups of children, including pupil premium, SEN etc.
  • Be responsible for the improvement of attendance throughout school and to meet/exceed attendance targets.
  • Produce reports and statistics for the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Be the first point of contact for parents in relation to attendance and punctuality.
  • Arrange and carry out attendance meetings with families and agree solutions.
  • Conduct home visits.
  • Organise weekly attendance competitions and rewards.
  • Liaise with Education Welfare Worker, Headteacher and Head of Pastoral regularly.
  • Maintain medical records, care plans and medications for children.
  • Maintain care plans and risk assessments for staff.
  • Administer first aid to children and staff (being the first point of contact).
  • Monitor and replenish first aid supplies.
  • Communicate first aid incidents to parents.

Experience and essential attributes:

  • Experience of working in an education setting.
  • Ability to remain professional in challenging situations.
  • Experience developing, managing and operating administrative systems.
  • Confidence to challenge difficult behaviour.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Maintain effective record keeping.
  • Knowledge of working with Arbor would be preferred.
