We are recruiting a Site Assistant for 37.5 hours per week, all year round, to provide effective facilities management support to the school, including ensuring that the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards. 

This is a key role in our facilities team, supporting the Site Supervisor to ensure that the school is cleaned and maintained in a safe and efficient manner in line with quality assurance procedures. 

The Site Assistant is responsible, through the Site Supervisor, School Business Manager, Headteacher and Governing Body, for a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of the School. 

Primarily the role will be carrying out daily cleaning duties, routine testing, maintenance, handy-person activities, securing the school at the start or end of the day and assisting with supervision of cleaning team, giving direction as appropriate, and ordering necessary supplies and stocks. You will undertake planned and reactive site duties to support all school maintenance needs and health and safety requirements.

There will be occasions when flexibility and additional hours will be required to accommodate any evening or special events with parents/carers, pupils and staff e.g. parent evenings, and also lettings.

The working shift is 8 hours each day with a 30-minute break.  The current working pattern is 6am – 2pm and 10am – 6pm each day on alternate weeks.  This can be discussed further with the successful candidate.
The hours of work can be varied during the School holidays – depending on contractors/cleaners needs, to be negotiated with the Site Supervisor.
