NJC Scale 4 £20,799 to £22,253, dependent on service

37.00 hours per week, term time only + 1 week for PD Days

8.15am – 4.30pm, Temporary in the first instance to fill a vacancy


Woodlands Primary School & Nursery are seeking to appoint an Administrator who is energetic, positive, resilient, efficient and a motivated individual. Experience of working in a school office is desirable but an understanding of Agresso would be beneficial or finance systems, as a substantial proportion of the work will involve finance. Experience of using Bromcom, or a school management information system, is also desirable. The successful candidate will be based in the school office; will be the first point of contact and must be able to promote the values of the school and deal with all stakeholders in a positive, friendly, courteous, calm, and professional manner. Alongside general administrative duties, the post holder will assist the School Business Manager with the planning and development of administrative support services:

  • Leading on purchasing and getting best value for school resources, monitoring, ordering, receiving deliveries and dealing with any queries and returns. 
  • Lead on finance; processing of invoices and transactions on Agresso, following strict school financial procedures, raising invoices for any works conducted by the school and being the contact for school accounts.
  • Managing the transactions of the School Fund Account, monthly administration, and reconciliation of the accounts, including the preparation of annual accounts for auditors. 
  • Ensuring the proper collection, security, recording and banking of all monies and cheques, in accordance with the school financial procedures.
  • Leading on ParenPay, supporting, and resolving technical issues for users, and dealing with enquiries. Have responsibility for the management of daily breakfast club, after school provision, including clubs on this system. 
  • Trip administration and co-ordination of transport and bookings in liaising with the school Education Visits Co-ordinator providing summaries, costings, and statistical reports of trips, as and when required.
  • Have responsibility for the daily administration of dinners and liaison with the school kitchen, as well as managing any debt administration. 
  •   First Aid Lead maintaining first aid stock, medication checks and communicating any changes to the First Aid trained staff. 
  •   Support the administration of the school MIS systems and admissions processes.

The applicant will need to possess: 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, have a professional and welcoming demeanour.
  • An ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy front-line office. 
  • The ability, and desire, to work as part of both the admin team and the wider school team.
  • Business Administration Level 3, or equivalent qualifications or experience in relevant 


  • Excellent ICT skills, good verbal and written communication and organisational skills.
