The Skills Delivery service within Telford & Wrekin Council is focused on improving the skills and employment prospects of its residents. The Adult & Community Learning function, in which this post sits, is a good service with outstanding features as judged by Ofsted in March 2016 and continues to strive to deliver the highest quality learning for local people.

Last year the service supported 1800 learners delivered through a mix of directly delivered courses and sub-contracting arrangements with local partners. Direct delivery accounts for around 90% of learning delivery and we are looking for the successful candidate to support the continued development of our curriculum.

The direct delivery provision consists of a range of ESFA funded courses using either ASB or Community Learning funding (both soon to be AEB from September ’16). The successful candidate will need have substantial experience of working in FE funded provision, which has included teaching and assessing on a range of programmes and designing both accredited and non-accredited courses. This role will focus mainly on the leadership and development of our family learning courses.

The service is well supported within the council and over the last couple of years has introduced new approaches to tackling unemployment with a particular focus on youth unemployment, which has been very successful. www.telfordjobbox.co.uk

This is an exciting time to join a friendly, committed and successful service that really cares about making a positive difference for local people. If you believe you have the qualifications, experience and drive to help us increase our delivery of high quality, responsive and innovate learning we would love to hear from you.
