2 days left
Required as soon as possible
Grade 5 (£17,419 - £19,430 pa) 37hours per week, rotating shift pattern between 7am and 10pm, Whole Year, some weekend work may be required.
We are looking for a reliable and practical individual with a 'can do' attitude to work across our extensive secondary school site. You will be supporting the Head of Estates and the Caretaking Coordinator to provide a safe and effective learning environment which operates efficiently throughout the year, along with the cleaning team.
Responsibilities cover general caretaking duties including: opening and closing the premises, basic maintenance and repairs, waste management, emergency call outs, and health and safety checks. Duties will also include maintaining high standards of cleanliness and security to support and safeguard the welfare of all persons using the school premises. The site remains open until 10pm in the evening with community and sports bookings and you will be expected to liaise with these local groups.
You will, therefore, need to be confident dealing with the public and have excellent communication skills, ready to deal with a variety of different visitors and situations, whilst representing the Academy and the Trust within the community. You will need to be fit and able to cope with physically challenging duties as well as being trustworthy and competent to take responsibility. You should also have an enthusiasm for implementing sustainable policies and procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring janitorial supplies to ensure orders are placed, as well as liaising with external contractors, so you must be confident with computerised systems and negotiating for best value.
As part of the United Endeavour Trust Estates Team, you will also be willing to work flexibly to ensure all premises are appropriately prepared, and to cover holidays or absence of other team members. You may have to undertake training to keep abreast of current statutory requirements, so previous relevant experience would be an advantage, although not essential.
