Warwickshire County Highways look after and maintain the vast majority of roads and highways in the county from filling in potholes, to planning and developing major new road projects. Our administration team provide crucial support to our operations and we are seeking two new additions to our team to undertake an apprenticeship and work towards becoming an Administration Officer in County Highways.

We have a vacancy at each of our large depots, in Budbrooke (near Warwick) and Coleshill. The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

Fixed term contract length 15 months

Point 1 = 16 - 17 year old (everyone in their first year)= £4.05 per hour or £7,813.61 per annum
Point 2 = NMW 18 – 20 year old and have completed 12 months of the scheme £5.60 per hour or £10,804.00 per annum
Point 3 = 21st Birthday and have completed 12 months of the sceme £7.05per hour or £13,601.46 per annum
Point 4 = 25th Birthday and have completed 12 months of the scheme £7.50 an hour, £13,469.64 per annum.

In this role you'll learn to carry out a wide range of general administration / HR duties including sickness & absence management, holiday calculations, and processing highway applications and licences to enable the service delivery of all highway services for all stakeholders and customers throughout Warwickshire. You'll be the first point of contact for all internal / external customers, suppliers, and site based staff, enabling them to carry out crucial works on Warwickshire's roads.

The work you undertake will be supported by loads of training and development opportunities too, to enable you to complete an apprenticeship in Business Administration and develop your skills and competencies in all tasks associated with the role so that you can be ready to progress into a further administrative position upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Key Requirements

If you have confident communication skills, good literacy and numeracy and an organised nature, then we'd love to hear from you.

Most important of all, you'll need a willingness to learn and "be a sponge" so that you maximise all of the training opportunities on offer.
