Salary: £27,687 - £29,669 per annum
35 Hours per Week
Location: The Hive
Temporary: 12 Months

The Role:

Can you inspire others through archaeology? Do you want to plan and lead community engagement and education projects alongside a small team of like-minded people? We are looking for an innovative, dynamic and motivated archaeologist who has considerable experience of commercial field archaeology, as well as in delivering educational and outreach programmes that meet the needs of commercial clients, stakeholders and communities.

Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service is based at The Hive, in the centre of Worcester (www.thehiveworcester.org), an award-winning building, receiving over 750,000 public visits per annum, and providing a unique combination of university library, public library, original archive and archaeological services under one roof. As part of the County Council, we provide a great Pension Scheme. The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is a nationwide, career average pension scheme and is a valuable part of the pay and reward package for employees working in local government. You will also benefit from 34 days holiday per year (including statutory holidays), rising to 39 after 5 years, and a review and development scheme for all, which has underpinned our proven track record of training, retaining and promoting staff.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and / previously met the definition of Regulated Activity (as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) and is therefore subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Check (Via the Disclosure Barring Service, DBS) (as defined by the Police Act).
