Warwickshire’s Children & Families Service is implementing a new role – Family Support Worker for Child in Need.

You will case hold a young person and their family who are classified as a Child in Need and complete assessments where appropriate. You will work with the family on a day to day basis and be fully supported by a Lead Practitioner. We will ensure you receive relevant and appropriate training to enable you to fully support your young people and their families.

As part of this, the role may be subject to future positive changes and our teams may look different in the future however this will not affect a successful candidates permanent employment.


The Role

We have multiple roles across the 5 Warwickshire Districts & Boroughs. The roles are in our Safeguarding & Support Teams and our Initial Response Teams, who have a dedicated team of Managers, Lead Practitioners, Social Workers and Family Support Workers who will be there to support and advise you, but you will be the key lead person in the young persons time with us.  The role/team/location may look different in the coming months as we move towards new ways of working.

You will be responsible for ensuring their care plans are updated, work directly with the family to affect change, ensure the voice of the young person is heard and acted on, plan and lead any statutory meetings that are required, but most of all, be part of a team around the young person.
