The headteacher and governors of Greenways Primary Academy wish to recruit a temporary Teaching Support Assistant to work in our wonderful year 2 class here at Greenways for 12 months from 1st September 2024. This post consists of 31 hours per week in total.


The post is made up of the following hours and roles to support the school need:

  • 23.5 hours Teaching Support Assistant – paid at Level 4 SCP 4-7 - £23,114-£24,294 pro rata.
  • 2.5 hours HLTA to support class PPA cover – paid at Level 7 SCP 18 - £28,770 pro rata.
  • 5 hours Lunchtime Supervisor - paid at Level 2 SCP 2 - £22,366 pro rata.


We are seeking to appoint someone who ideally has recent experience working in Key Stage One; has high standards and expectations in every aspect of school life; and is committed to working as part of our school team. This unique role has HLTA hours whereby we require the successful candidate to cover the class weekly PPA. Therefore, confidence in leading a class and delivering planned lessons is integral to this role. 


The successful candidate must have a positive approach to their practice, with a firm belief that all children can succeed. We want you to be able to prepare and adapt activities that engage and interest our pupils so that they enjoy accessing their learning. Excellent interpersonal skills and being able to work in partnership with all members of the school community is imperative in supporting us in maintaining our strong home-school links and positive school culture.


You will need to work in partnership with the class teacher to create an inclusive, safe and welcoming classroom environment in which pupils feel secure, confident and motivated to learn.
