The team is currently made up from lawyers from the public sector, private sector and home-grown talent and we would welcome applicants from a range of legal backgrounds including lawyers who are interested in beginning a new career in local government.

Benefits include:

  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Employee benefits scheme
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave

Working Environment:

  • Be part of an award-winning legal team comprising over 140 legal professionals.
  • Engage with a diverse pool of colleagues, including those from the public and private sectors.
  • Embrace our pioneering system of agile working, offering opportunities to work flexibly
  • Full-time (37 hours per week) or part time position (hours to be negotiated)
  • Non-hierarchical and friendly team culture, promoting equality, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Enjoy the benefits of a non-corporate practice, seeing cases through to completion with a high level of responsibility.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer (2 years’ experience gained as a Solicitor or Barrister or Trainee Solicitor or 6 years relevant legal experience for CILEX Lawyers) with experience of drafting s106 agreements, advising on planning enforcement and planning issues generally.

This is a great opportunity for a planning and highways solicitor who is looking for a new challenge and wants to have a positive impact on the community. You will be able to handle varied, high-quality work in a supportive and friendly team, whilst enjoying excellent work-life balance.

In summary, we are an ambitious team that wants to deliver consistently outstanding legal work. If you’re someone who is prepared to get stuck in, who wants to do the best job possible, who approaches everything with passion and purpose, then we would welcome your application.
