Teachng Assistant in Early Years

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support in Early Years from September 2024. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to support work in the classroom, being mindful of the school’s inclusive behaviour ethos and policies.  Experience of Makaton, ELKLAN and PECS or a willingness to undertake this training is desirable. 

The position is initially for a one year period, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only paid £12 per hour (pay award pending).  However there are also additional hours available, working in our After-school club until 5.45pm.

KCSIE: Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child-centred. This means that they should consider at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.”

John Randall Primary School is committed to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people. All posts working with children will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
