About us

 

The Family & Adolescent Support team is a multi-disciplinary team working with young people 11+ where the main area of need is related to extra-familial harm. We also work with young people at the edge of care where there are concerns relating to mental health and substance misuse, young people 16 and 17 presenting as homeless, and supporting young people’s return home following a period of hospital admittance (tier 4).

The post will offer you the opportunity to: -

  • Work creatively and collaboratively within a multi-agency team and with partner agencies
  • Work intensively with children, young people and their parents/carers within a contextual framework.
  • Develop skill base and knowledge in relation to mental health, substance misuse, contextual safeguarding, and extra-familial harm.
  • Build strong and stabilising relationships with children, young people, and their parents/carers.
  • Work within a child in need framework, ensuring statutory timeframes are met and plans are outcome focused.
  • Offer support and guidance to Family Support Workers and oversee interventions.
  • Respond to risk in a timely manner and ensure appropriate safeguarding actions are taken

 

The Role

 

Our team is locality based, this vacancy is for a Family Support Worker, based at Bloxham Centre, Rugby.

Across all areas our Family Support Workers will be: -

  • Passionate about achieving better outcomes for vulnerable children and their families, and this will be demonstrated through restorative practice
  • Undertaking work to reduce harms for children and young people
  • Working with young people and an ability to form positive relationships
  • Working with children, young people, and their families within a contextual safeguarding framework, working to reduce extra-familial harm with children, young people, and their parents/carers
  • Empowering parents/carers as partners in safeguarding and ensure interventions are robust and effective.
