This is what one of our team members has to say about the role:

“I have been a social worker in the SGO support team since it went live in August 2019. When the team first started it comprised of myself, a team manager and a family support worker. Over the past four years we have expanded to having three full time and one part time social worker and team manager. We are looking to expand further with another part-time social worker. The team is still developing, and it is extremely exciting to be part of the development and growth of the team. We are very privileged to work with families to come up with solutions together and support them through their SGO journey. In this role I have had access to some fantastic training to help SGO carers have the tools to parent in a therapeutic way. I am now trained in NVR level 1, DDP level 1 and have a diploma in therapeutic life story work.

Some families I have supported since I started in the team, and I have enjoyed every second building trusting relationships with them. I can honestly say that I have found the best role for me. Working with and not doing too families is our ethos and I am extremely grateful to our families for letting us be part of their lives.”
