Trainee ICT Security Engineer

Permanent, 37 hours per week

£26,421 - £28,770 per annum

Career Graded role with the opportunity to progress through the career grade structure

The ICT shared service provides ICT services for the three South Worcestershire councils – Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council, and Wychavon District Council.  Based at the Civic Centre in Pershore we provide support and development to the 700 + users. 

This role will be a member of the team responsible for the security of all South Worcestershire ICT shared service systems.   You will be involved in:

  • monitoring and reporting of existing security systems
  • implementation of new security systems
  • ensuring compliance with security accreditations
  • responding to incidents and carrying out security investigations 

About you  

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist with vulnerability scanning; software patching; monitoring of ICT security systems
  • Have the ability to work on assigned security tasks under supervision
  • Be able to work under pressure, have effective problem solving skills, be able to communicate with both technical and non technical parties and be able to put the customer at the heart of their work.
