About The Role

Transport Operations arranges home to school transport provision for students with special educational needs as well as transport to day care services for adults. We also provide daytime demand responsive transport.

We are looking for Drivers to join us. Driving a specially adapted large minibus, you will be working with a team of other Drivers and Passenger Assistants.

Part-time roles (25 hours per week) transport adults and children to day care, respite placements and schools in Warwickshire which will include helping passengers, some of whom may have physical and learning disabilities, on and off the bus, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.  Part-time roles operate on a split shift system with a morning shift sometime between 7am and 11am, and returning for an afternoon shift sometime between 2pm and 6pm each weekday. Actual times will vary according to the route you are assigned.

Full-time roles (37 hours per week) include all these responsibilities, and also operate a Demand Responsive Transport service in Stratford District in the middle of the day, with appropriate breaks including lunch. These breaks are taken remotely, as there is not an opportunity to return to the depot due to time and distance constraints.

Drivers are responsible for maintaining the vehicle records as well ensuring the bus is clean and tidy after each use.

Full time roles are based at our Warwick Depot.

Part time roles are available in Warwick, Rugby, and Nuneaton Depots.

Drivers employed by Warwickshire County Council may be asked to work from a different depot, which will always be notified in advance.

Drivers will be expected to support the wider team as required including occasional work as a Passenger Assistant on a route instead of driving when required.
