Job Details

Oakengates Leisure Centre is one of the Councils largest leisure facilities in one of the fastest growing towns in the West Midlands, the site includes a large multi-purpose leisure facility, Tennis Centre, 3G Artificial Pitch and an Athletics track.

We are now seeking a dynamic, committed, and suitable skilled individual to join our leisure management team as a Duty Manager, the individual will need to work well under pressure, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to assist in leading and motivating a team, whilst being focused on high customer service standards and delivery.

The candidate will have experience in all areas of the leisure business with a strong focus on operational leadership.  

The successful applicant must have good interpersonal and customer communication skills and relevant supervisory experience in a Leisure and Customer Services environment. They will have experience of Supervising and training staff in operational procedures experience of Health & Safety monitoring and reporting procedures. A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (or ability to achieve within 6 months), Pool plant operators’ certificate (or ability to achieve in 6 months) and a Level 2 Health & Fitness Certificate (or ability to achieve within 6 months) are requirements of the post.

They will have good knowledge of current Health and safety legislation, HR, Audit and financial policies and procedures and understand the links between physical activity and health.

The successful candidate will work across a rota pattern that includes evenings and weekend working and will be responsible for the operational management of a Council owned sports and leisure facility on a shift basis.
