Wyre Forest District Council is seeking a customer focused, motivated and well organised newly qualified person or those with proven customer experience, who is looking at a career in Planning as a Planning / Development Management Officer. In this role you will engage with members of the public and key stakeholders and manage a caseload of varied planning applications ranging from urban redevelopment projects, household extensions, agricultural developments, advertisements, listed building alterations and green belt developments as well as processing planning appeals. 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who has excellent time management, problem-solving and communication skills and is able to build trust and good working relationships through collaborative working and able to show empathy. 

Wyre Forest District Local Plan has an up to date Local Plan and is thriving in terms of housing growth and we have been awarded the Planning Skills Delivery Fund to invest in staff. This post is career graded as follows:

1.            Salary Band 3 (25-28)   Meets Minimum Requirements of Personal Specification

2.            Salary Band 4 (29-32)   As 1 plus at least 2 years experience in Planning and Corporate Membership of RTPI

The post holder will be required to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post.

Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
