Job Title: Cover Supervisor 

Salary range: £27,803- £29,777 FTE 

(OAT Grade 5 15-19) 
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only + Training days 

Status: Full Time. Term time only 

Contract term: Fixed Term (12 month contract) 

Start date: As soon as possible or to be agreed with the successful applicant

What we are looking for: 

We are looking to recruit an experienced, ambitious, smart and motivated individual to carry out a key position in the academy. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes to cover short term absence of teachers, and to allow teachers to carry out professional duties and training. To give instructions for the lesson as provided by the teacher and keep students on task whilst maintaining good order. 

The successful candidate will:  

  • Have experience supporting teaching and learning in schools 
  • Have GCSE maths, English & science A*-C or equivalent 
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills supported by relevant qualifications. 
  • First aid training will need to be undertaken if an appropriate first aid qualification is not already held 
  • Have experience of working with young people 
  • Be able to address the needs of our students by supporting them in overcoming their barriers to learning  
  • Be able to demonstrate an awareness of emotional wellbeing and empathy for young people, to understand their needs and respond accordingly  
  • Be rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this  
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence 
  • Have the ability to use all microsoft office packages to a proficient standard  
  • Have the ability to work well in a team and independently
