Dudley MBC have fantastic opportunities for experienced Care Assistants to join the team at Tiled House Intermediate Care, Brierley Hill. 

All shifts cover a 7 day working shift pattern, which includes every other weekend and working 5 bank holidays throughout the year (two of which must be over the Christmas period):

Early shift  07:30 - 14:30 - Afternoon shift 14:00 - 21:30

Vacancy hours: from 19.5 to 35 hours per week. 

Hours per week available: 19.5, 2x 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 31.5, 2x 35. (various vacancies) 

A brief background on Tiled House

Tiled House provides an Intermediate Care and Reablement Service with accommodation and personal care for up to 47 people. The service provides personal care to people who have been in hospital or suffered a crisis and need support to enable them to return to live at home in the community.

People who stay at Tiled House have a variety of needs, they are supported by a multi-disciplinary team.  This consists of a management team supported by experienced care and domestic teams and other professionals such as nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers.


Duties of the role include:

  • To work with colleagues to support people who have had a crisis which has resulted in a hospital admission and now require further support with reablement therapy as well as providing physical and emotional support whilst ensuring safeguarding and independence is promoted.        
  • As a member of the care team, to contribute to all aspects of the physical and emotional care of the people who use the service. To enable individuals to achieve a lifestyle of their own choice.
  • To participate in the planning and provision of person-centred care that promotes respect, dignity and personalisation.  
  • To work along side therapy services / nurses in order to promote independence, well being and choice for vulnerable adults.

The Ideal candidates will:

  • Have previously worked with vulnerable adults in a care setting.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with others.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of recording, reporting and has the ability to gather information to complete paperwork.
  • Work within policies and procedures of the service to comply with CQC standards and to participate in the provision of quality care.
  • Awareness for the comfort, wellbeing, and self-respect of all service users and colleagues.
  • Have knowledge of Equality & Diversity.
