37 hours per week term-time only
The College is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic permanent Mental Health & Wellbeing Officer, to work full time (37 hours per week), term-time only (38 weeks) to work with the Safeguarding and Pastoral Team to provide mental health and wellbeing support to students and contribute to cross-college awareness events.
You will provide interventions to individual students for whom this would be beneficial to their wellbeing, attendance at the College and success in their studies. You will also provide regular focused group work. You will liaise with the Safeguarding Officer, the College counselling service and the safeguarding and pastoral team to ensure student access to appropriate internal and external sources of support. You will contribute to cross-college campaigns and events to inform students of key messages relating to mental health and wellbeing, and the planning of relevant tutorial activities.
The successful applicant will be educated to Level 3 and will have some mental health/wellbeing training and experience. You will demonstrate effective interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills and have experience of offering mental health & wellbeing interventions. You will have experience of working with individuals from different cultures, disabilities, sexual orientations and ages, preferably within a further/higher education setting.
