Specialist Senior Educational Psychologist (Cognition and Learning)
Warwickshire’s EPS is a vibrant, exciting and growing service with a strong local and national reputation in a county full of culture and activity. The EPS is made up of five teams located in three bases across the county, each managed by a Senior EP and under the leadership of the Principal EP who also manages SENDAR. As a consequence of this structure the EPS and SENDAR work extremely closely and the high reputation of our staff means that EPs are at the heart of Local Authority strategic and operational development. Staff morale and job satisfaction are high.
As a semi-traded service we have many commissions for work from Warwickshire schools and a range of other agencies both within the county and further afield. This has allowed us to undertake some exciting and substantial projects covering systems work, capacity building and therapeutic programmes along with the usual case work.

37.0 Hours per Week
We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic and creative Specialist Senior EP with a minimum of three years’ experience to work collaboratively with our two post holders to raise educational attainment through:
- Building capacity within the service, the LA and in schools
- Identifying and removing barriers to learning
- Contributing to the creation of a Local Authority policy on literacy and specific learning difficulties and embedding that policy into practice across the county
- Taking an active and supportive approach to the avoidance of disputes through the development of robust systems and early identification of potential difficulties.
- Forging links with other WCC teams and nationally
- Identifying, negotiating and managing opportunities for commissions that meet the above aims
The post holder will also have a patch of schools.
All applicants must be professionally qualified and HCPC registered or on an approved doctoral training course with the expectation of achieving HCPC registration during Autumn Term 2018 or Spring term 2019
