Education Capital Strategy Manager
Coventry has a thriving Education System and is an exciting place to work. We’ve built strong partnerships across our school family and 86% of Coventry children attend good or outstanding primary and secondary schools compared to 58% in August 2012. All our specials schools are good or outstanding. Coventry’s education system includes two top-class universities: Warwick and Coventry recently ranked 8th and 12th respectively in the Guardian University Guide 2018.
Based in our People Directorate and reporting to the Head of Service – Education Entitlement, we are looking for someone who can enable delivery of sufficient places for Coventry children and young people and can manage our education capital programme.
To be successful, you’ll need to have advanced knowledge and experience of project management, particularly for school projects and a good track record of delivery.
You’ll demonstrate abilities to analyse, understand and interpret complex technical, financial and legal issues. You’ll be adept at working with people at all levels including head teachers, elected members, professional advisors and members of the public and you’ll have advanced influencing and negotiation skills.
You’ll be at home in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and, crucially, you’ll be wholly committed to achieving the very best. In return, you’ll work with a talented and creative team, one that will support and challenge you every step of the way.
