Location: Waterfall Lane, Cradley Heath
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Grade F plus shift allowance Incl (£36,111 - £40,463)

Fleet Services is Sandwell MBC’s dedicated in-house fleet maintenance division. Located in Cradley Heath, we provide top-tier maintenance and repair services for a diverse fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and equipment pieces, catering to both public bodies and private sector contracts. This dynamic environment offers a broad exposure to various vehicle technologies and systems, presenting an ideal workplace for professional growth in vehicle maintenance.

Job Summary:

As a Vehicle Technician at Sandwell MBC Fleet Services, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring optimal functionality and safety. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a skilled team that values precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Execute comprehensive maintenance and repair tasks across a diverse fleet.
• Skill Development: Engage in continuous learning to handle various types of vehicles and equipment.
• Out of Hours Support: Participate in an out-of-hours breakdown service to provide timely solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Driver’s License: Full UK HGV (Category C or C+E) license preferred.
  • Candidates with a clean full UK driver’s license (Category B) may be considered for training to obtain a Category C license on a fixed-term basis.
• Qualifications: Hold a BTEC National Certificate in Automotive Engineering ONC or equivalent.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to out-of-hours service calls.
