Joining a newly formed team of Environmental Health and Trading Standards professionals you will be responsible for the regulation of a range of housing, nuisance and environmental crime issues.

Following a recent re-structure of Solihull Council’s Neighbourhood and Regulatory Services we are looking to appoint a senior enforcement officer who will help us to shape this new team.

To join us you will be experienced in conducting practical inspections and investigations to determine compliance with the range of non-food Environmental Health law including, but not limited to, environmental crime, nuisance and private sector housing. You will also have excellent communication and negotiation skills and will be able to use them to find successful resolutions for the problems you identify. Where necessary, you will use your knowledge and experience to deliver proportionate enforcement action. You will be competent in the application of the Housing Health & Safety Rating Scheme.

The team is heavily involved in the integration project between Solihull Council and West Midlands Police. As a result you will have a track record of strong engagement with partner agencies and working with them to provide creative solutions to a wide variety of problems. You will be working across the socially and economically diverse Borough of Solihull.

Interviews will be held on Friday 15 September 2017.

Please contact Richard Staveley for an informal discussion on 0121 704 8124.

Please note we do not accept CVs.

Solihull Council has a responsibility for, and a commitment to, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and requires all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
